College students undertaking new activities with KaMCOP

KaMCOP have been delivering a range of exciting events with colleges across Kent and Medway in the run up to the end of the year. This included:

  • Engineering Level 2 and 3 and Automotive Level 2 students from Broadstairs College went to Brompton Barracks in Chatham for a STEM event hosted by the army. During the event, they took part in practical workshops relating to their course and also found out about higher apprenticeship opportunities with the army.
  • Canterbury College hosted three local universities, as well as its own higher education provision, as part of World Access to Higher Education Day. Staff were on hand to talk to students about opportunities for progression, and overcoming some of the barriers they face.
  • Sheppey College Public Services students visited the Escape Rooms in Canterbury. The Public Services course involves effective communications and team working, and they undertook an interactive workshop to develop these skills in a fun hands-on way. The workshops are also recognised as boosting concentration, creative thinking and problem solving.
