UCA: Beautiful Object for a Peaceful Mind Masterclass

  • 15th February 2021
  • Hosted by University for the Creative ArtsDelivered at: Off campus

Beautiful object for a Peaceful Mind

This 1-day Masterclass, delivered by creative workshop tutor, Cathy Tutton, will give you the opportunity to learn new, mindful painting techniques. UCA's Masterclasses are an excellent opportunity for you to explore a new, creative discipline, build on your portfolio of work and find out more about Creative Careers and university. Plus, you will achieve a Discover Arts Award qualification.

Participants will learn a new technique and apply it to an object, that can then be used for mindfulness/meditation exercises. The workshop allows participants to reflect on imagery that symbolises different emotions, narratives and memories. Colour, texture and visual motifs are combined to express an individual feeling. The repetitive nature of the paitning technique will also allow for a mindful experience. The activity will produce a physical outcome that can be used to aid meditation or mindfulness. All materials are provided prior to workshop.

  • You must be a current Year 7 or year 8 student to take part in this workshop.
  • This workshop will take place via an online platform therefore participants must have Internet access.
  • Successful applicants will be provided with a free materials pack for the workshop.
